Fall Feeling
September is quickly coming to an end and October is right around the corner. I know that fall officially started about a week ago, but apparently NYC didn’t get the memo. I was afraid that this fall feeling would never come since the temperatures have been so blazing hot. I have literally been counting down the days until I could finally take some of my new favorite pieces out for a spin. Well folks, the day has finally come – I am so happy to be writing about my first fall look of the year! I love this season more than the average pumpkin spice latte drinking girl should. I mean who doesn’t? The crisp cool air, the cozy sweaters, the cute little boots, and the colorful leaves…it’s my favorite. Want to know the other best part about the autumn season?
Five to Try // Faux Fur
Though it doesn’t quite feel like it yet in NYC (we are in the middle of a heat wave) Fall is upon us and it is time to start thinking about pulling out your coziest pieces for the cooler weather to come. And when it comes to being cozy, it doesn’t get much better than a little faux fur. This season, fuzzy accents and head to toe faux fur are definitely going to be a go-to trend. Check out a few of my “wish list” items below and let me know what you think!
It may literally and figuratively be THE HOTTEST color trend for this Fall. Flashes of this vibrant cherry color can be seen all around the fashion world right now, and I couldn’t be more excited about it. This specific red gives me all the feels. It reminds me of wearing the perfect shade of yellow – when you put it on, you can’t help but be happy. And not only does this bright hue make a statement on its own, but it also sharpens graphic patterns and livens up boring neutrals. It is such a POWER color. Whether you are rockin’ it as a bold lip or an oversized denim jacket, you are going to feel like you can do anything. I mean, who doesn’t want that?!
One Year Anniversary
All giddy during our first look
This past Sunday, Zach and I celebrated our O N E year wedding anniversary. Not only have we made it through a year of marriage, but we have also made it through a year of living in NYC as newly weds. They say that if you make it through either of those things separately, you can make it through anything. I guess that means we are extra prepared to conquer whatever life throws at us (but I already knew that as long as I have my loving husband by my side). To be honest, instead of this year being the hardest, I actually thought it was the most fun. This year was about focusing on our relationship and growing as one. It was about savoring the simple things – our Sunday night walks, adding new broadway playbills to our growing collection, and watching old school Batman cartoons on the couch while eating popsicles. It’s been fun to see both of us take on this new role as husband and wife. We have grown so much in the last year and continue to teach each other how to love fearlessly and support one another through good times and bad. I could never repay Zach for how much joy and light that he brings in to my life…but I look forward to trying for many more years to come! I thought it would be fun to share a small glimpse into our first year of marriage with a few questions we both answered separately. Enjoy :)
Staying On Time With JORD + Giveaway!!!
Sometimes I wish that time could just stand still.
If you know me, then you know that I am constantly running late. It’s not a quality that I am particularly proud of, so it has been a continuous “work in progress”. I feel like I have tried everything from waking up earlier in the morning to being more organized about my time, but for some reason nothing seems to work. I always find myself asking “what time is it now?” and “when do we HAVE to leave?” or “I just need 5 more minutes!” I’m sure my husband knows these lines all too well haha.
After many trials and tribulations of trying to find new ways to be on time, I think I found a simple solution – wearing a watch. If I can carry time around with me, it is easier for me to stay present in the moment. I am easily distracted (which usually leads to me being late) so having a constant reminder of if i’m staying on schedule at my fingertips is so helpful! I know that this all should’ve hit me long before, but I never thought that I could be a “watch person”. I have skinny little wrists, so nothing ever fits correctly and I am easily annoyed by bulky jewelry. I knew that if I was going to try out a watch, it couldn’t just be any watch.
And that’s when JORD Wood Watches came in to my life.
